Character Creation and Feedback Update

This release expands character creation with faster appearance controls, randomized looks, stature choices, starter-gear previews, and consistent pedestal presentation. It also adds surface-aware footsteps, completes several class-defining Keystone abilities, and improves training, shortcuts, combat feedback, and world UI.

Classes

Defiler

  • Pestilence, Dividend, and Backlash now define distinct builds around a moving plague host, shared stolen power, and damage reflected into attackers.

Echocaller

  • Retinue, Armament, and Avatar now create visible paths for commanding an echo company, wielding spectral armaments, or focusing power into one dedicated healing echo.

Necromancer

  • Bone Spear, Revive, and Life Tap now anchor distinct paths around piercing bone attacks, one permanent Spectre raised from a fallen enemy, and party recovery through a curse.

Primal

  • Lifebond, Direform, and Canopy now define exclusive builds around a persistent First Fang, apex Guardian or Predator forms, and Regrowth that moves to the ally who needs it next.

Shade

  • Shade's deep Mastery paths now culminate in a decisive assassination escape, a physical-evasion tank payoff, or a timed melee finisher that opens the target's defenses.

Wayfinder

  • Snipe, Breakaway, and Ironjaw now give Deadeye, Trailblazer, and Trapper visible build-defining actions for marked shots, mobile control, and prepared ground.

Weaver

  • Cataclysm, Cryostasis, and Refraction now create visible paths around a long tri-school cast, full-body crystal defense, and prism-projected spell duplication.

New

  • Character creation now uses left and right controls for appearance choices, with combined Complexion and Hair Color options and fixed starter basewear.
  • New Short, Average, and Tall stature choices persist across character creation, selection, the character sheet, and world presentation without changing gameplay reach or collision.
  • Fresh character-creation sessions now begin with a valid randomized appearance, and the new Randomize action rerolls every configurable appearance choice on demand.
  • Character-creation previews now show the selected class's complete starter equipment and update immediately when class or character form changes.
  • Character creation, character select, and the character-sheet preview now place characters on the same presentation pedestal with consistent framing and foot contact.

Improved

  • Footstep sounds now follow the ground beneath each visible character, NPC, and pet as they move between terrain, structures, and other surfaces within the same scene.
  • Grass movement now uses a varied five-sound footstep set, giving repeated travel a more natural rhythm.
  • Attributes and Skills now share one ordered training ledger where planned Auto-Train priorities can be added, reordered, removed, and trained manually without leaving the list.
  • Shortcut conflicts now offer Swap, Replace, and Cancel, with the resulting bindings shown before the change is committed.
  • Item tooltips now carry a subtle rarity-colored wash that fades into the existing dark textured background; comparison tooltips use each item's own rarity.
  • Current Makers' Wake news can now be opened from login, character select, and the world without delaying game entry when the website is unavailable.

Fixed

  • Living neutral units that can be attacked now show the Attack cursor, while friendly, dead, and non-attackable units keep their existing cursor behavior.
  • Item and currency loot receipts now align with normal chat rows without extra blank space, while item links and wrapped text remain usable.
  • Bow attacks and Bow-required abilities now share one minimum-range boundary, removing contradictory range behavior and the unusable gap between melee and ranged attacks.
  • A player's recoverable remains now appear only after Release Spirit is accepted and remain consistent through reconnect and recovery paths.
  • Character preview and movement presentation received additional fixes for stale equipment, mismatched appearance state, and brief animation transitions.
