Build beyond a class
Choose a class and lineage, then keep shaping your character through Mastery, skills, equipment, and profession choices.
A multiplayer RPG working toward MMO scale
Makers' Wake is working toward MMO scale. Start with a class and lineage, then shape what you can do through Mastery, skills, equipment, profession, and discovery.

Build more than a class
Class and lineage are the beginning. Mastery, skills, equipment, professions, and the things you discover keep opening new ways to contribute—in a fight, on the road, and among other players.
Choose a class and lineage, then keep shaping your character through Mastery, skills, equipment, and profession choices.
Gather, craft, trade, explore, and become useful to other players in ways that do not begin and end with damage.
Travel a dangerous shared world where preparation matters, unusual discoveries stay memorable, and people can come to know one another.

Your class is a starting point
Mastery gives each class three directions to explore. Commit deeply, combine them, or let equipment and learned skills pull your character somewhere unexpected.

A life beyond combat
Gather resources, learn a profession, trade, and prepare for the road. The early build proves the first pieces; the long-term goal is a world where useful specialists are as recognizable as accomplished fighters.
The complete current roster
Each begins with its own combat spine and opens into distinct Mastery disciplines. Scroll through the whole roster, then open the class guide for more.

Familiar roads. Stranger depths.
Centuries after the world's makers departed, towns still work, roads still need guarding, and people still find ordinary reasons for joy. Beyond those warm places, reality has begun to fail in small and unsettling ways.
You are not a chosen savior. You are one more person trying to make a name, earn trust, and understand what the makers left behind.
“A world with weight: worn stone, useful work, dangerous roads, and rare wonders.”
Development manifesto
Makers' Wake is being built for lasting characters, grounded travel, useful specialists, and progress that opens outward instead of erasing what came before.
What we are testing now
The current target follows the road through Rimwatch, establishes an early character build, and ends in Salvager's Cache for the first dungeon test.

The game has a public name. Here is what Makers' Wake means, and the kind of world we are building beneath it.
Read noteThe first open playtest has a deliberately narrow job: make the road from level 1 to the first dungeon worth playing together.
Read noteCombat is one part of a character's story. Craft, trade, travel, and useful knowledge should matter too.
