Class Updates, Spellbooks, and Combat Clarity

Herald and Lorekeeper gain new ways to support allies, spellbooks have more acquisition routes, and Salvager's Cache receives refreshed character models. Combat displays, tooltips, and character saves also receive fixes.

Classes

Herald

  • Herald's sustained Standard and Denounce orders now build through melee contact, while Edict creates a party damage opportunity and Redress supports recovery.
  • Invocation is now learned at level 5 without a Mastery purchase. Existing Heralds receive the appropriate knowledge and Mastery adjustments.
  • Endorsement now blesses a merchant, reducing ordinary purchases and repairs for its visitors for 30 minutes.

Lorekeeper

  • Alacrity grants a chosen ally, including a charmed creature, 5% attack and casting speed for 30 minutes.
  • Charm and Dominion can affect eligible elite creatures. Dominion retains their creature abilities in dungeons and against bosses.
  • Conclusion now strengthens Bracket with attack and casting speed suppression. Each enemy requires its own cast.

Necromancer

  • Summoned Spectres now persist correctly with their owner across character saves and returns.
  • Corpse spells now refuse a known ineligible corpse before starting the local cast bar.

Spells and Progression

  • World spellbooks now provide more class spell acquisition routes, with existing character knowledge carried forward.
  • Trainers now offer ordinary class spell catch-up when a character missed an earlier learning opportunity.
  • Spell tooltips put the core effect and useful values first, with additional scaling details available when holding Ctrl.

Items and Combat

  • School-specific damage bonuses now contribute Spell Power for their matching spells.
  • Accuracy and item stats have updated scaling across early gear progression.
  • Using a consumable while casting no longer changes the active spell's cost or identity.
  • Shared consumable cooldowns now hold across overlapping uses from different inventory stacks.
  • Arena queue replacement requests now keep the latest join choice when an earlier join is cancelled.

Interface and World

  • Salvager's Cache has refreshed appearances for Delver Mosk, Foreman Korr, Ledger Keeper Venn, Cache Alchemists, Hollow-Touched Salvagers, and Pen Handlers.
  • Combat frames, portraits, control loss alerts, and aura displays have clearer visual feedback.
  • Compact aura timers are centered, with stack counts in the lower-right corner and improved layering.
  • Known invalid control targets and trade-service enchants are rejected before local cast prediction.
  • Scavenged Supplies gathering nodes have been removed from Rimwatch.

Fixes

  • Quest rewards no longer let a delayed experience update overwrite newer experience gains or death penalties.
  • Character saves and cooldowns now recover more reliably when a connection drops during saving.
  • Death recovery now preserves pending retreat penalties until their outcome is confirmed after a connection interruption.
  • Spell tooltips now show weapon-damage multipliers correctly when no character preview is available.
  • Periodic effects now preserve updated charges and stored values when combat reactions change them.

Launcher

  • The launcher can recover from a previous update's leftover backup when the installed client is already intact.

Version 2026.09.17.2 ·

Black Screen Fix and Interface Updates

Fixes the black screen in the game client and updates nameplates and party frames.

Critical Fix

  • Fixed a rendering error that could leave the game client on a black screen.

HUD and Party Frames

  • Your player frame now sits above your teammates in one movable HUD group. Enable Separate Player Frame in settings to keep it apart from the party list.
  • Updated player, target, party, boss, and pet health bars with a consistent layout and clearer borders.
  • Friendly unit frames now highlight your ongoing heals and shields, harmful effects, and major defensive buffs.
  • Added a setting to show missing HP beside party members' health percentages.
  • Boss frames now show the boss's current cast during combat, even when you target another unit.

Nameplates

  • Enemy nameplates now show when an interrupt is ready or will become ready before a cast ends, and highlight buffs you can dispel.
  • Updated enemy nameplate colors to distinguish offensive casters and support creatures, with clearer threat warnings.
  • Nameplates now stay above their creatures by default. Enable nameplate stacking in settings to separate crowded plates with limited movement.
  • Right-clicking a nameplate now opens the unit's available actions. Pet dismissal remains on dedicated unit frames.

Creatures

  • Den Mother and Old Den Alpha are now Champions, with health, damage, and experience rewards adjusted to their rank.

Version 2026.09.16.2 ·

Rimwatch, Nameplates, Necromancy, and Interface Fixes

This update improves class resources, item progression, Rimwatch lighting, and nameplate readability while sharpening Necromancer ability rules and fixing Spectres, targeting, quests, companions, trading, and combat feedback.

Classes

Necromancer

  • Bone Spear now aims at the selected enemy while retaining its piercing path.
  • Raising Scrapdead now requires a slain, fully looted enemy, while Rattle can be used with any living undead companion you own.
  • Entomb no longer requires a nearby corpse or slain enemy; its normal target, range, resource, and damage-break rules remain intact.

Class Resources and Item Progression

  • Mana abilities now use whole-percentage costs based on each class's base Mana, keeping their cost share consistent as characters level.
  • Unique items now grant Magic-quality core stats alongside their named effect, while the one-Unique equipment limit remains.
  • Four Salvager's Cache boss cloaks now grant stronger, role-appropriate stats: Huntsman's Half-Cloak, Lamplighter's Cloak, Bowman's Shortcloak, and Standard-Bearer's Cloak.
  • The Rimwatch Guard Blade, Rimwatch Longbow, and Rimwatch Gateglass Wand now use current level-10 stat scaling.
  • Existing retired Rimwatch quest rewards are converted to current equivalent gear while preserving sockets, gems, enchantments, and valid rolls.

World and Presentation

  • Rimwatch has improved terrain shading, softer environmental shadows, and more consistent lighting around the outpost and surrounding valley.
  • Rimwatch vegetation no longer develops dark patches that disappear as you approach.
  • Players, pets, Quartermaster Hargan, Runner Mara, and nearby grass now sit correctly on the reshaped Rimwatch ground.
  • Skeleton enemies have updated family visuals and staff users now carry their weapons more naturally while idle.
  • Fixed an issue that could leave summoned Spectres invisible.

Nameplates

  • Crowded nameplates now separate vertically and keep target, quest, rank, aura, and party markers within the screen.
  • Combat nameplates now show names and health percentages inside health bars, clearer level and rank badges, and cast targets and interrupt protection.
  • Nameplate auras now show whole-second countdowns and continuous duration sweeps, with buffs and debuffs arranged to reduce crowding.

Combat and Companions

  • Abilities with no range limit no longer fail as out of range when used on an eligible distant target.
  • Target rings now remain conformed to uneven ground while rotating and pulsing, including around the Rimwatch Camp Hand.
  • Newly learned Mastery actions, including Bone Spear, now fill eligible action-bar slots reliably.
  • Automatic attacks use the queued action-bar treatment while enabled, and the ready glow appears only after an action truly becomes available.
  • The damage meter now separates companion abilities from the owner's matching abilities in the detailed breakdown.
  • Settled companions stay in place when their owner only turns, while deliberate companion selection uses a lower click priority and dismissal menus stay off nameplates.

Quests, Items, and Trading

  • Every tracked quest remains visible, and Shift-left-click now toggles tracking from either the tracker or quest journal.
  • Four-slot bags are now Common, while Leather Mask remains a rare one-in-one-thousand early helm drop.
  • Broker rows hide price, quantity, or item-level details when they do not apply, and the sell-item chooser lists higher-rarity items first.
  • Broker category chevrons now use one consistent shape that rotates cleanly when a category expands.

Interaction Fixes

  • Closing the loot window now ends the looting kneel promptly.
  • The dialogue cursor now appears only over units that can open dialogue.

Version 2026.09.15.1 ·

Trading, Companions, and Adventure Improvements

This update improves combat progression, quest and Broker interactions, companion reliability, party information, loot feedback, and everyday interface actions.

Combat and Movement

  • Mana pools now grow proportionally from each class's starting reserve, and Mana ability costs keep the same share of the class's baseline pool as levels rise.
  • Weapon Skills now add power consistently to weapon abilities, ordinary swings, and unarmed attacks instead of adding accuracy or a separate damage multiplier.
  • Ordinary automatic weapon swings and offhand pressure have been rebalanced; active attacks and commanded extra swings keep their full intended damage.
  • Only newly created Wayfinders begin with a ranged weapon; other classes find ranged equipment through normal progression.
  • Reachable melee enemies now respond and pursue after distant attacks, and Salvager Runner Rush Cut stays aligned for observers and later movement.
  • Closing a reading panel no longer freezes movement, and combat or casting puts the reading book away until the action ends.
  • Movement recovery now respects cast and server-correction limits while recovering more reliably from blocked ground movement.

Quests, Items, and Trading

  • Quest props now use their visible physical shape for interaction range, targeting, guidance, and line of sight.
  • Broker results now show item level and precise item types, prioritize quality for general browsing, and compare stackable supplies by unit price.
  • Successful shard changes now link the old and new item in chat, and eligible salvage has a 5% chance to grant one same-rarity shard.
  • Uncommon-or-higher drops play their rarity cue exactly once even when looted quickly, and empty corpses clear misleading blue effects.
  • Random crafted-equipment previews now show the known base, item level, and fixed requirements while clearly marking rolled rarity and perks as uncertain.
  • Quest reward rows now show bread and potion quantities inside their item icons instead of repeating quantities in item text.
  • Bag-capacity tooltips now show the added Inventory Slots without an unrelated affix-style glyph.

Companions and Party

  • Party frames keep current level, Health, primary resource, and death state beyond normal world visibility, while unavailable members are labeled truthfully.
  • Persistent health frames now show every active owned pet, including classes that control several pets at once.
  • Owned pets no longer block intended enemy or corpse clicks, while deliberate pet-frame interactions remain available.
  • Following pets now catch up when terrain makes their remaining walking route much longer than their straight-line distance to you.

Interface and Presentation

  • Action-bar cooldowns, readiness, unavailable states, and automatic attacks are easier to read at a glance.
  • Click equipped hand weapons onto the cursor to move or swap them directly between compatible hands; unarmed attacks now stow ranged weapons correctly.
  • Press Enter on the character roster to perform the same eligible Enter World action as the button.
  • The launcher now shows a session checkbox for launching the game when an update is ready; changing it does not interrupt the download.
  • Scout Tern's Rimwatch quest lines have refreshed voice delivery.
  • Creatures no longer show an outdated appearance after changing form or disappearing.

Version 2026.09.13.2 ·

  • Aligned the Rimwatch flour and bandage quest interaction points with their visible props.
  • Abilities with cast times that depend on the target's state now show and apply the correct timing when queued or held.
